Issue #467 - September 4th, 2024
After nearly 9 years of Shopify Dispatch, I'm deciding to pause publishing the Shopify Dispatch newsletter.
Over the last few years I've noticed a lot of great sources stop publishing, disappear, or (most recently) shift to AI-created drivel. The goal of the publication was to highlight high-quality content which is getting harder and harder to find.
I'll still watch for great content but instead of a weekly issue collecting it all, I'll dedicate a day of my regular Shopify Tips to it.
Weekly subscribers: I'll be sending you a weekly digest of my articles starting next week.
Thanks for being a reader. Now let's close out with the articles from this week:
Focus on the fundamentals
Ilana Davis says to focus on your customer fundamentals when creating pages instead of blindly following a site audit.
Change Just Creeps Up On You And Then? Boom!
Using his pickleball experience, Kevin Hillstrom describes what happens with a major change that shifts an entire industry.
These sorts of changes are happening all the time but most go unnoticed unless you're an insider. The "state of the art" and "best practices" keep shifting and give you opportunities to react.
Promote products that create your best customers
When it's time to run a promotion, how do you pick the products to feature? Best sellers are okay but wouldn't it better to promote the products that crate the best customers? Repeat Customer Insights will analyze your product and buyer behavior to show which products and variants lead to the highest quality customers.
