Shopify Dispatch Issue #179 - Value of a subscriber

How to calculate the value of an email subscriber

Samantha Connors at Jilt wrote how to calculate the value of an email subscriber along with several different methods and metrics to track.

You'll probably just want to pick one method and stick with it, too many methods and metrics can be confusing and miss what's really important: generating sales.

For myself, I just track clicks to landing pages and sales associated with them which gives me a click-through rate and conversion rate. Then I use other non-numeric measurements to get a gut feel of the campaign (e.g. what's written in replies, questions asked, etc).

Segment your customers for fun and profit (but mostly profit)

Segmenting your customers has always been touted as a powerful marketing tool but many stores avoid it because it can be time-consuming.

Repeat Customer Insights will automatically segment your entire customer base for you based on the valuable data Shopify has already collected. Ranging from 5 to over 125+ different segments, you can pick how much power you want to harness.
