Two things today.
First, I launched a simple calculator "app" for Shopify that will let you estimate how much your Shopify bill would be at various plans.
Several customers were asking for recommendations on which Shopify plan to use or if upgrading would be worth it so I figured I could build this. There are some alternative calculators but they were confusing or overly-complex.
Secondly, I wanted you to see this from a SEO standpoint.
Shopify's pricing is confusing due to the number of variables so there's a lot of search activity around Shopify pricing.
While complex, their pricing is easy to model with a few formulas so software can calculate it easily.
Since one of my strengths is software development, I decided to build this calculator as a marketing asset. Meaning by investing a bit of time and work into it, I can offer something useful to people searching for answers around Shopify pricing.
Pairing that with a bit of content to turn it into a full article, this can become a solid way to generate traffic and customers. It will also attract links which will boost its ranking and the rest of my website's SEO.
Just like how I used my software development strength, you probably have strengths you can tap into for your marketing and SEO. Writing content is important but it's not the only way to make SEO work.
If you can build useful and valuable things for people that attract attention, those assets can help your SEO and lead to more business. Plus since they are your personal strengths, they are easy to defend against competitors.
My plan is to build a few more of these calculators for things that are difficult to calculate by hand but easy for a computer to do. If you have an idea for you, please let me know.
Another SEO feature that is easy to defend is Rich Results.
Since they are specific to your store data and store trust, they are hard to competitors to mimic or steal. They can get their own but they can't copy yours. Especially when you collect product reviews.
JSON-LD for SEO is the easiest and safest way to get Rich Results for your Shopify store.
