Learning which products are popular is one of the goals of merchandising. Often this is the best-selling products, based on total sales.
Popular can mean a lot of things though. What if your best-selling product only sold once and that customer just disappeared after buying it? It'd be pretty hard to build customer loyalty right?
Another definition of popular products is a product that a customer buys again and again. If they liked it enough to buy it again, then you could probably sell it to new customers and get multiple sales from them.
Finding these products can be tricky though, as Shopify's reports don't really expose that data.
That's why I'm happy to announce the Product Reorders report has been added to Repeat Customer Insights.
This report crawls through your customer data to find customers who bought a product more than once and then summarizes how often that happens.
Using this you can quickly and easily identify which products are driving reorders. In my demo data example, which flavors customers are coming back for. The report also shows which products have the most number of reorders by a single customer.
For those using Repeat Customer Insights I hope this can help you spot your best-repeat-selling products.
If you're not a customer yet, there's a demo version with sample data you can poke around or you can sign-up for the 14-day free trial.
