Make your Shopify homepage start converting customers

Your Shopify homepage is the first or one of the first impressions on new customers.

It should clearly convey what your store is and who it serves.

And no, everyone is not a valid answer unless you're willing to go toe-to-toe with the behemoths like Amazon and Walmart.

There are four areas to focus on for the homepage:

  1. Copywriting around positioning
  2. Navigation
  3. Main image(s)
  4. Gut feel (e.g. clean and sparse VS colorful and fun VS edgy)

All four areas are important and shouldn't be ignored, though you might give one more weight over another.

One final quick tip: often a lot of good copy about your positioning is buried in the About page so dig through that page and bring that content out on your homepage.

Segmenting your customers has always been touted as a powerful marketing tool but many stores avoid it because it can be time-consuming.

Repeat Customer Insights will automatically segment your entire customer base for you based on the valuable data Shopify has already collected. Ranging from 5 to over 125+ different segments, you can pick how much power you want to harness.
