A lot of people compliment me on my writing and how consistent I write.
But I have a secret...
I picked up one piece of advice from a book a long time ago and it was reinforced a few months ago from another book.
Most workdays I try to sit down and write the email for tomorrow. The majority of the time I succeed.
Sometimes though, life happens.
There are days where I just can't. even. start.
Or when I'm sick.
Or on vacation.
For those days, I've created something called The Vault. That's my secret.
The Vault is a handful of writing that I've already written and gotten 99% ready to go.
These are articles are topics that come up often or ones that I had an itch to write about in the past. Or they are articles that I've written already for other sites or have deep in my site's published archives.
They are my safety net.
My backup.
Or, if you've read The Goal (the book that reminded me) or anything about The Theory of Constraints, they are my buffer.
I thought about them this week because on Tuesday I made an active effort to add to The Vault. I ended up creating my own inspiration and in about an hour I had four new articles drafted and almost ready to deposit.
My advice to you today is to think about where you've been inconsistent with your business. Is there a way you can dedicate some time and build up a buffer there?
Especially take a look at marketing, almost every business owner I know could use a buffer (or four) there.
Today would be a good day to Install JSON-LD for SEO if you haven't yet.
It's a simple install that doesn't require you to know any coding, due to it's automatic installer. Once it's done, then you might qualify for Google Rich Snippets in the next couple of months which could boost your traffic and conversions.
Or if you're not sure what any of that means, reply and I'd be happy to give you a free Structured Data Audit done for your site.
